Yuba, Riese & Müller, and other e-cargo bike manufacturers only sell through preferred retailers. But I can picture her face, and it’s not pretty. I don’t know what my mom would say if I picked her up at the airport and strapped her into a cargo box to ride home. Going completely carless would justify the price, but it’s hard to make the commitment.
I loved the versatility and power of the R&M Load, but at $7,000, it costs as much as my current car. It would be much easier, more fun, and better for the environment, if I could replace at least a few of those trips with an electric cargo bike. If your goal is to improve visibility during the daytime the premium headlight won’t do much to help but there are other options (more on that in the video below). The daylight visibility is virtually nonexistent on either headlight. The light was a bit larger than I anticipated which will surely give you an improved presence on the road. The premium headlight features a center light which serves as more of a spotlight and the “power button” shaped ring around the light gives you increased visibility, even from the side. However, the premium headlight certainly offers better visibility than the stock headlight. We personally found the stock headlight sufficient for the limited riding we do at night.
